2. About this site
This is a personal blog and portfolio where I write about cyber security while learning in public. The content reflects my own views and experience. It is provided for general information and education, is not exhaustive, and may become out of date.
3. Intellectual property
Unless stated otherwise, the content on this site (articles, text, graphics, the design and the brand "Inside // UnixSingh") is my property and is protected by copyright and other rights.
- You may read the content and share links to it freely.
- You may quote short extracts with clear attribution and a link back to the original page.
- You may not republish whole articles, present my work as your own, or use the content for commercial purposes, without my written permission.
- Any code or commands are shared for reference and learning, provided "as is" without warranty. Test them in a safe environment you control before using them anywhere that matters.
4. Security content, testing and legality
Much of this site explains security concepts, vulnerabilities and techniques. This material is intended to help people understand and defend systems. By using it you agree that:
- you will only apply any technique against systems you own or have explicit written authorisation to test;
- unauthorised access to computer systems is a criminal offence in the UK under the Computer Misuse Act 1990, and similar laws apply elsewhere;
- you are solely responsible for your own actions, and I accept no liability for any misuse of the information, or for any loss or damage arising from your use of it;
- the content is provided for educational purposes on an "as is" basis, may be incomplete or simplified, and is not a substitute for professional security advice.
5. No professional advice or relationship
Nothing on this site is professional, legal or formal security advice, and reading it does not create any advisory, client or contractual relationship between us. For decisions that matter, get advice tailored to your situation from a suitably qualified professional.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the site. In particular, do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to it, disrupt or overload it, probe or scan it without permission, introduce malicious code, or scrape it in a way that harms its operation or breaches these terms.
7. Links to other sites
The site links to third-party sites and services (for example LinkedIn, GitHub, Buy Me a Coffee and referenced sources). I do not control those sites and am not responsible for their content, availability or practices. Links are not an endorsement.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including as to accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I will not be liable for any loss or damage (including indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, or loss arising from reliance on the content or from any downtime) connected with your use of, or inability to use, the site. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
9. Governing law
These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rights you have as a consumer.
